Here's how it works:
Each week, starting 11/02/2009, I will post the BCS Top 25 schedule in this topic and each week, you pick the winner of each match up. The twist is that you must choose a margin of victory and you gain bonus points by coming as close to the margin of victory as possible. If you pick the Tide to beat the Tigers by 7 and the Tide win by 1, you get 2 points for picking the Tide to win but you get no bonus points because you didn't beat your spread. If the game ends up with Alabama winning by 13 points then you would get 2 points for winning and 10 bonus points for beating your spread. Now, if the Tide win by 7, 8 or 9, you would get bonus points for being within 2 points of your spread (These bonus points are only available if you BEAT your spread so if your team wins by 6, that's gets you 2 points but you didn't beat your spread. In this case, tying the spread is the same as beating the spread). I won't participate but I will tally the points and keep the up-to-date standings. Summary of points:
Code:
Result Points
Loss 0
Win 2
Beat Spread 10
Beat Spread by 2 pts 6
Beat Spread by 1 pts 7
Beat Spread by 0 pts 8
