Someone on PFT said that Shepard died the other day so he could be there to announce George's arrival. I thought that was pretty good.

At one time, he had a deal to buy the Indians but it fell through so he "settled" for the Yankees. When I think of Cleveland with Steinbrenner, I think of Atlanta with Turner. Ted turned around a franchise that was going no where and one can only wonder how things would have turned out differently with George at the helm.

I respected him and I will miss all the fun that he brought to MLB. Good bye, George, you will be missed.
